Do you FeelPlus?

do-you-feelplus

Recently ever since I finished Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood I’ve been ready to get into the next game in the series, Revelations. I mentioned previously that I normally don’t do this to keep a series from getting stale. I haven’t started the next game just yet because I want to experience it as I share it with fellow AC gamer @D_Fleischmann.

In the meantime I’ve been playing Moon Diver. This is a downloadable game on PSN and XBL by FeelPlus and Square Enix. In a similar way it seems akin to how grind heavy Hard Corps: Uprising was for a Contra game. The only difference being Moon Diver is more like another classic arcade game. You may have heard of it; Strider. Both Strider and Moon Diver were directed by Koichi Yotsui.

On the collection front I didn’t buy any new games, but I did want to play some of Final Fight CD with Usagi704. I couldn’t because the audio/video cables weren’t connecting fully to the TV. I did easily find cables that did the job.

I also picked up a used original Super Nintendo controller. It definitely feels used alright. The Start button needs to be pressed down quite a bit for anything to happen. Otherwise it seems to hold up fairly well. This includes fighting games.

Thanks for reading!

Hey Microsoft! (a collection blog and short story)

Hey Microsoft! I have some TV for you. It’s called Xena: Warrior Princess and this is season 2. It’s funny, but I don’t need your Xbox One to watch it. I have all I need right now multiple times over. You should know about the format. It’s called DVD. I know, I know. That’s SO last generation.

Hey Microsoft! I also bought Power Rangers S.P.D. for the Game Boy Advance from It’s About Games. I bought it USED and I know how much of a criminal I am for doing such a legal thing. But when you look at it as it is in REALITY you find out that these video game stores can’t exist unless they sell used products. It’s not like their $2 profit on a $60 new game is going to keep them in business.

Hey Microsoft! Gigastormz was a really nice dude and hooked me up with a free Steam copy of Hotline Miami. You know Steam, right? It’s that digital platform from Valve Software who know how to price digital versions of retail games. You know, by actually giving a discount. But I wouldn’t want to give you actual good ideas for Xbox Live or anything.

Hey Microsoft! Another free Steam game came along from Devolver Digital in the form of the original 1997 PC game Shadow Warrior. They’re the crew publishing the upcoming remake from the developer Flying Wild Hog. It’s a much better game to give away for free unlike crap nobody wanted like Undertow. Again, I apologize for giving you such great ideas.

Onto books with actual paper and printed words in them. I picked up paperback versions (because I’d rather that over hardcover) of four of Mick Foley’s books. I did read “Have a Nice Day!” around the time it came out, but didn’t own it. I always wanted to read at least “Foley Is Good” too. I do like this cover for “Countdown To Lockdown” over the original. It had a huge title taking up most of the cover which I didn’t think looked great.

* Mankind: Have a Nice Day! (735 pages)
* Foley Is Good: And The Real World Is Faker Than Wrestling (574 pages)
* The Hardcore Diaries (371 pages)
* Countdown To Lockdown (377 pages)

Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

E3 2011: Microsoft Press Conference

e3-2011-ms-conf

***************************************************************
PLEASE NOTE: This is my comments from Twitter that I made as the conference happened. If you can’t handle a difference of opinion from your own, then please DO NOT read this or comment.
***************************************************************

* First up for the Microsoft press conf. is, you guessed it, a shooter. It’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Yawn!

* Honestly, why are they showing this game. Everybody knows what to expect and they buy it. I won’t, but this was already known too.

* Good thing a guy is shown playing. I always thought video games played themselves. Heck they kind of do nowadays.

* Tomb Raider reboot up now. This is one game that seems interesting to me.

* Peter Moore out for EA Sports imagining Kinect crap.

* I think I speak for all Mass Effect fans when I say Mass Effect 3 doesn’t need Kinect support.

* Ubisoft with Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. How may E3s has this been at now? At least 2.

* Can Kinect make taking a piss more “fun” too?

* TV doesn’t need to be “improved” with Kinect. A person’s voice isn’t standardized, but the remote is. I’ll take the “so horrible” remote.

* The INTERNET itself finds things better than Xbox Live.

* Entertainment with Xbox IS NOT the way I want it. It’s the way YOU want it Microsoft and that sucks!

* Dana White [UFC President]? He adds nothing being here expect for maybe getting an attitude with someone.

* Awww. It’s CliffyB & Ice-T for Gears of War 3. How cute.

* Crytek with Ryse trailer and now Halo history trailer for Halo 1 remake.

* Forza 4 trailer shown. Now Peter Molyneux on to over promise with the newest Fable game.

* Minecraft getting an Xbox release. I still don’t understand the appeal of it.

* Dinseyland Adventures for the Kinect looks like Home.

* [Kids on stage playing a demo.] “Oh no the Queen! Fistbump!” *rolls eyes*

* [Star Wars Kinect game pops on screen.] Clearly people are programmed to cheer anything Star Wars related. Stop it!

* Double Fine with their Sesame Street game.

* It’s Tim Schafer and, of course, we have to act like everything he does is so damn wonderful.

* It’s time for that wacky Kudo Tsunoda!

* That’s a lot of cheering for Avatar features.

* Kinect Sports 2 up now. AKA Wii Sports Resort.

* You can’t become #1 console in the world if the Japanese aren’t buying it.

* Halo 4 teaser for 2012 ends the show.

You’re Not Man Enough To Fight Me

man-enough

It amazes me how good some people think they are at a certain game until they finally play somebody outside of their circle of friends. A great example of this is this video of Handsome Tom being “challenged” in Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting over Xbox Live.

It’s four matches of awfulness with this guy saying that his friends say that he’s the best. Well that only means that his friends are just that much worse. He even noted that he’s played Street Fighter games for “pretty much his whole gaming career.” Well that doesn’t mean anything if you don’t improve skill-wise.

Enough of me. Just watch the video and be horrified.
