New Releases 2013: March

March is a month of big releases and one of the mainstays of this month over the last eight years has been God of War. Being a big fan of the series I was quite disappointed of the demo for Ascension. I’m sure I’ll pick it up eventually, but I don’t feel the need to right away like I have in the past.

I’m more interested in Tomb Raider and a possibility of Darkstalkers Resurrection, a compilation of the second and third arcade games.

As I Saw It: E3 2012 Nintendo Press Conference

PLEASE NOTE: This is my comments from Twitter that I made as the conference happened. If you can’t handle a difference of opinion from your own, then please DO NOT read this or comment.

* Miyamoto’s got Pikmins in his pocket! #creepy

* I hate to break it to Nintendo, but your Wii U is *still* hooked up to the TV.

* It’s been 10 years since the last one. Dissing their Gamecube about not being able to handle the power of Pikmin 3 is funny.

* Shout outs to a few live streaming providers of their conference. What about, Reggie? They did it first and best in streaming!

* Nintendo All-Access at E3. A name to remember, Reggie says. At e3 *dramatic pause* .nintendo *dramatic pause* .com

* NES comparison with Wii U with 2 controllers. INNOVATION! >_>

* I love how they feel the need to explain their new controller. Who’s such an idiot to need this?

* Is this the menu of the Wii U? It looks like cluttered ass. Game icons (I’m guessing) with small Miis and speech bubbles. Definitely very cluttered.

* New Super Mario Bros. 2. It’s looking like every other tired Mario game.

* I’m sorry. New Super Mario Bros. U. Stop with the system name tie-ins to your game titles!

* Batman with new features we know will be pointless.

* BAT mode for all at once explosions. What’s this? A Michael Bay mode?

* It’s pretty safe to say that Scribblenauts Unlimited with have limited options.

* Reggie’s body is ready for Wii Fit U. I’m ready to not care.

* Husband in trailer got SCHOOLED! Get outta the way you fatass! Your wife is taking charge.

* Sing is some dumb stuff. Xbox’s Lips felt like it ran a trailer.
Reply to me::@VGnPizza: Their Lips should Sing on my Flute ;)

* 3DS system is SO awesome that it gets NO time at this conf. with exception of New Super Mario Bros. 2.

* “I won’t be explaining anything about this game.” *Cheers* (lol) Aug. 29th.

* Paper Mario Sticker Star with more gameplay. Whatever that means. I hate when they throw games out there quickly.

* Luigi’s Mansion 2. Can’t comment because we need to move too fast. I feel like Vince Russo wrote this press conf.

* Finally no more specific IPs getting the Lego look. I’ve been waiting for the generic Lego game! This is it.

* “Chase McCain? You’re a LEGEND!”
Reply to me::@gamespot: We feel sheepish for not knowing him.

* RT @SonicHomeboy: Well, that Lego City game does look charming. Maybe, maybe.
Reply::You mean generic.

* Yves of Ubisoft got lost finding his E3 booth and landed on Nintendo’s stage.

* I feel a Splinter Cell coming.

* Nope. Well, there is Just Dance 4…and four goofs on stage doing as Madonna said.

* RT @jeffgerstmann: Bring Flo Rida out here!
Reply::Let’s not.

* Tired zombie themed game ZombiU is back. Scan with the controller. Snipe with the controller. Break free with the controller. Door hacking with the controller.

* ZombiU zombiFucks Reggie’s face up and then onto Ubisoft games video. Transitions be damned.

* They list off game titles so quickly it’s really difficult to give a shit about any of them.

* Wasn’t that what I had back in the ’80s-early ’90s before Sony stomped their ass?

* Nintendo Land is PlayStation Home, but with their retarded looking Miis.

* RT @JimSterling: Nintendo Land. Can’t wait to play that for literally four minutes and then never again, forever.

* They are spending WAY to much time on this.

* Take one more look because I’m sure to think this isn’t stupid eventually.

* Remember it’s at e3 *dramatic pause* .nintendo *dramatic pause* .com

New Releases 2010: Oct. 3-16

A number of games jump out at me for the next fortnight. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow looks decent as does Enslaved: Odyssey to the West a bit more.

Medal of Honor has been on my radar ever since the announcement at E3 of the remake of Frontline included at no extra cost.

I may finally get around to playing Devil Kings on PS2 with the release of Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes.

New Releases 2009: September 6-19

The next couple of weeks are pretty stacked for new game releases. I’m personally not seeing anything that I’d want to pick up outside of a small interest in Dirt 2 for this week and Wet for the next.

I know a bunch of people will be looking forward to Scribblenauts. I’m cautious about the game because it seems like all the hype surrounding the game’s main gimmick might make the novelty wear off sooner than one would hope.

The PC will be getting a trilogy of console ports in two weeks time that include Batman: Arkham Asylum, Red Faction: Guerrilla and Resident Evil 5.

Dirt 2 (WII, PS3, PSP, PC, X360, DS)
Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days (PSP)
IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey (PS3, X360)
LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year Edition (PS3)
Mini Ninjas (PC, WII, DS, PS3)
Muramasa: The Demon Blade (WII)
Raiden IV (X360)
Sonic & Knuckles (XBL)
The Beatles: Rock Band (PS3, X360, WII)
Trine (PSN)

Batman: Arkham Asylum (PC)
Bleach: The 3rd Phantom (DS)
IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey (PSP, DS)
Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story (DS)
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 (DS, X360, WII, PS3, PS2, PSP)
NHL 10 (PS3, X360)
NHL 2K10 (PS3, X360, WII, PS2)
Need for Speed: Shift (PSP, PC, PS3, X360)
Pinball Hall of Fame – The Williams Collection (PS3, X360)

Resident Evil 5 (PC)
Scribblenauts (DS)
Wet (PS3, X360)

Anything look good to you?

Like always, I’ll put up another blog here soon. Thanks for reading.
