Anniversaries For Everyone

A few weeks ago I plunked down the most I’ve spent to date on a video game controller. It was for the 20th Anniversary gray PS4 Dualshock 4. More recently the white version was available for a cheaper than usual price via NewEgg.com.

Speaking of anniversaries, I went onto eBay to get the Game Boy Advance game Rayman: 10th Anniversary. It’s a compilation of the original Rayman and Rayman 3. The original game, in particular, is called Rayman Advance and was tweaked in several ways to make the game less punishing as it was on the PS1.

Finally it’s time for some movies from the comedy genre. 1993 brought us Dave co-starring Sigourney Weaver. Three years later Adam Sandler made one of his last actually good movies in Happy Gilmore. Lastly, we have the 1987 Star Wars parody by Mel Brooks which is better than Star Wars itself, Spaceballs.

As I Saw It: E3 2012 Ubisoft Press Conference

PLEASE NOTE: This is my comments from Twitter that I made as the conference happened. If you can’t handle a difference of opinion from your own, then please DO NOT read this or comment.

* Ubisoft conf. starts off with more crap rap.

* Just Dance continues on with the fourth entry.

* Flo Rida only happy because he’s getting phat paid. Otherwise he doesn’t care.

* Backstage? WTF is this? Pro wrestling? Is he going to be in a crappy vignette later on?

* “We’re all a little bit gay.” Best stupid line ever!

* ANOTHER god damn shooter and I’m going to do something boss, he says.

* Far Cry 3 with first-person crowd-hyping!

* I just thought that the questions they claim are from the Internet by “Backstage Guy” are probably fake.

* Terrorist plot in a video game? Never…

* Backstage guy just said they were scripted. I told you this was pro wrestling.

* CGI trailer for Avengers: Battle for Earth. No gameplay shown means I don’t care.

* I’ve been welcomed.

* I just can’t get excited for this art style. I’m not a fan of it.

* 5-players at once. Sounds like New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

* “COME CHECK US OUT AT THE BOOTH!” Calm the fuck down. Christ!

* Too many CoD games and now the continuation of the zombie theme. STOP THIS NONSENSE!

* Not awesome, sorry. The idea has been to death!

* RT @CTWatters: ZombiU. Okay, fine. Let’s ramp up the Wii U puns, Ubisoft. Ur Shape Fitness. MariU Kart. U Can Just Dance. Avengers: U Battle ‘Em.

* Doing what everyone else is doing is not innovation! Stop throwing that term around.

* Assassin’s Creed III’s setting is still intriguing.

* Apparently “Wolfie” isn’t going to be fine after all.

* RT @SonicHomeboy: Perhaps his foster parents were dead.

* Assassin’s Creed III now with more boot gnawing.

* #ACIII is honestly the best game I’ve seen all day so far. It helps I haven’t play anything past #ACII. It’s basically more of the same with a new setting. Why do I like it so?

* This October, Wolfie’s gonna die.

* Another FPS?! Suck my extremely unexcited and limp dick!

* “Shootmania. This is esports.” It’s also something nobody wants!

* RT @jeffgerstmann: If this is eSports, I want out.

* Not a single person in competitive gaming calls it “esports.” It’s a marketing term and it only serves to make people hate you.

* Sorry, Yves. We don’t have time for you. Time limit was 1 hour not 1 hour and until we feel like it.

* What’s the point of this “CTOS?” It’s a depressing look into the lack of privacy of today.

* Ubisoft’s time was up 10 mins. ago. They’re fucking with my time table. NOBODY FUCKS WITH MY TIME TABLE!

* Important info like what the hell is this is seriously lacking right now.

* RT @gvaranini: Is this an episode of Lost?
Reply::Yes, as in Lost My Attention.

* If I tell Yves I’m 100% sold on this already, will they please end the conf.?

* I love giving a message via bullet.

* Finally a title to go with the new game. Watch Dogs.

* “Come down to the booth and do that shit.” Best dumb closing line ever.
