New Releases 2013: March

March is a month of big releases and one of the mainstays of this month over the last eight years has been God of War. Being a big fan of the series I was quite disappointed of the demo for Ascension. I’m sure I’ll pick it up eventually, but I don’t feel the need to right away like I have in the past.

I’m more interested in Tomb Raider and a possibility of Darkstalkers Resurrection, a compilation of the second and third arcade games.

Samus and The Prince Power Up

In case some of you don’t know, has a giveaway program called “Power Ups” in which you can win a free game in a random drawing. I won Every Extend Extra for PSP on August 25th.

Sadly, though, you aren’t given a choice on which system for multiplatform games you’d want the game for. This means I could get an Xbox 360 version of a game despite not owning the system. It also means you could win a repeat copy of a game you already have as was the case for me.

The good news is I used the extra copy along with a few other games to obtain four Game Boy Advance games I’ve been wanting for awhile. I traded in seven games, but only really rid myself of two, Chorno Trigger and Psychonauts, since the rest, Donkey Kong Country (SNES), Street Fighter II (SNES), Shadow of the Ninja, and God of War: Chains of Olympus, were repeats.

* Blackthorne (complete)
* Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire (complete)
* Medal of Honor: Infiltrator (game only)
* Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (game only)

I also tried to get a complete copy of Splinter Cell on the same system, but apparently they didn’t have it.

* Metroid: Other M
* Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier (PS2)
* Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (PSP)

I picked up Metroid: Other M right now mainly because I keep hearing how split fans are on this game. It has been bugging me so I wanted to find out where I stand on it. I’m going to go into the game with an open mind and not let the negativity of some internet celebrities color how I feel about the game before I’ve even played it.

The other two games, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier and the PSP version of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, were snatched up because they were pretty cheap when I was out looking for a Nintendo points card.

New Releases 2010: Mar. 7-20

The eye of March is upon you with big mclarge huge games! It’s so crazy for the next two weeks that these two lists couldn’t be contained to wait until this weekend to post. Here’s an early look!

It’s not any secret that God of War III is what I’ll be getting. What’s the one big title that you want?

Assassin’s Creed II (PC)
BlazBlue Portable (PSP)

Mega Man 10 (PS3)
Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition (PS3, X360)

METRO 2033 (PC, X360)
Perfect Dark (XBL)
Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver (DS)
Resonance of Fate (PS3, X360)
Supreme Commander 2 (X360)

The weather has been ridiculous in the last week with snow here and everywhere. Tons of this stuff has been dumped and it wouldn’t be so bad if the local city crew didn’t suck as much ass as they do clearing the streets. Even the main roads are really neglected. I should slide my car on down to city hall and tell them that I could do a better job by myself…blindfolded.

Now moving onto my gaming update since you’d much rather read about that.

The last time I talked about Borderlands (almost two weeks ago), I’ve reached level 31 with my soldier. When I joined other online game sessions in progress it was nice to feel needed unlike in LittleBigPlanet where people want you to piss off as soon as you join.

Trophies: 30 / 51 (59%)

Other than that only Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is getting my attention. I’ve uploaded six new videos half consisting of fights and half of racing.

Kai vs. Rain (x3)

Motor Kombat – Lin Kuei Raceway
Scorpion vs. Johnny Cage

Motor Kombat – Outworld Refinery
Sub-Zero vs. Cyrax

Motor Kombat – Botan Jungle
Sub-Zero vs. Raiden

Kung Lao vs. Rain
Kabal vs. Johnny Cage
Kabal vs. Scorpion

Kai vs. Scorpion
Kai vs. Rain

I ended up finding a couple of uncommon items a few days ago. One was Mega Man Maverick Hunter X and the other was an interesting gold and silver colored Pokemon Game Boy Color. The unit has clearly been used, but not abused. It still works great.

New Releases 2009: Oct. 4-17

These next two weeks of game releases are quite large as one might suspect since now we’re getting into the holiday release schedule.

My pick for this time is a game that will undoubtedly win Game of the Year from some publications when award season comes around. That game is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. I also have to give a mention to Half-Minute Hero. By the looks of the demo, it will offer a slightly different gaming experience.
