These next two weeks has a bit of interest for myself. Four games catch my eye. For sure I’ll get Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and Split/Second with a possibility of Lost Planet 2 and Rocket Knight. I doubt I’ll bother getting them right now. They’ll be in the wish list more than likely, though.

What has your attention at the moment?

NEW GAMES FOR THE WEEK OF 5/9
3D Dot Game Heroes (PS3)
Lost Planet 2 (PS3, X360)
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 (PSP)

Oh and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands on PSP is also looking pretty good. So I guess that makes that five games. :D

New Releases 2009: Oct. 4-17

These next two weeks of game releases are quite large as one might suspect since now we’re getting into the holiday release schedule.

My pick for this time is a game that will undoubtedly win Game of the Year from some publications when award season comes around. That game is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. I also have to give a mention to Half-Minute Hero. By the looks of the demo, it will offer a slightly different gaming experience.

New Releases 2009: May 24-June 6

The number of good choices for this upcoming week and the next are about the same as the previous two weeks. There’s not much overall, but a high percent of people will be choosing one of the few big games.

As for my picks, I’ll be going with Infamous and Red Faction: Guerrilla. The odd game out of the group is Knights in the Nightmare. It looks quite confusing for me to wrap my head around the original style of the game. Check out this preview over on GT to get a better understanding for the game than I could possibly do myself.

NEW GAMES FOR THE WEEK OF 5/24
Cross Edge (PS3)
Damnation (PC, PS3, X360)
Infamous (PS3)
Secret Agent Clank (PS2)

NEW GAMES FOR THE WEEK OF 5/31
Avatar (X360)
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (WW)
Fuel (PC, PS3, X360)
Knights in the Nightmare (DS)
Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Council 4 (DS)
Red Faction: Guerrilla (PC, PS3, X360)
The Sims 3 (PC, MAC)

RETRO GAME SUGGESTIONS
Magic Sword ~$10
The King of Dragons ~$20
Knights of the Round ~$20

These last three games are what I like to call the “Capcom Medieval Trilogy.” They were all released into the arcades within a 2 year period and are roughly the same type of game. Also the only home ports of these games were on the Super Nintendo until the Capcom collections were released. All three are available on Volume 2 with Magic Sword also on Remixed and the latter two on Reloaded for PSP.

Enjoy the long weekend. Game on!

Gamecube

Recently I decided I wanted to play my Game Boy Color/Advance games on my TV. Of course there’s only one way to do this and I didn’t have a thing that I needed outside of the GBA games.

Yeah you guessed it, I bought a Gamecube and a Game Boy Player. But that wasn’t all. I knew that a Gamecube controller wasn’t going to cut it for some of the games, so I also got a GBA to GC link cable.

While I was at it I figured that I’d check out some Gamecube specific games. After some looking around at reviews and video footage, I chose 15 games that seemed interesting. Eight of them were obtained as you’ll see below.

I also picked up a few other things like a GBA headphones adapter and Sly 2: Band of Thieves. The latter was to see if I like it enough to search for any of the other games in that trilogy.
