As I Saw It: E3 2012 Microsoft Press Conference

PLEASE NOTE: This is my comments from Twitter that I made as the conference happened. If you can’t handle a difference of opinion from your own, then please DO NOT read this or comment.

* “Global media” making them sound important. As if.

* Hey, look! It’s Halo 4. Their only offering for this year.

* Looks like a “visor view” in this one. Metroid Prime called…

* RT @SonicHomeboy: LOL I’m loving the Metroid Prime references on these Tweets. I couldn’t agree more really.
Reply::And here I thought I was being original.

* Mastering abilities just means press a button, watch animation.

* They’re in the Middle East. So topical. Also, Arabs always speak English. These are someone’s “facts.”

* EA Sports segment = boring segment. #amirite?

* Joe Montana on stage for Madden 13 demo.

* Joe says “hike” and the delay was really awkward.

* More softcore games on Kinect like Fable: The Journey.

* More Gears of War. CliffyB wants to milk this series dry and you’d better like it!

* Subtitled Judgment. Nice and over used word.

* RT @Casey_Malone: Thank god that even in the post-apocalyptic Earth of Gears of War, there will still be hairdressers to frost people’s tips.

* Forza: Horizon. Drop that “Motorsport.”

* AT XBOX WE LOVE ENTERTAINMENT! What’s your problem? Why don’t you?

* Bing is a horrible search. DuckDuckGo.com, d00ds!

* Applause for a Bing search. Audience needs shot.

* I’m glad they have TV shows because I wouldn’t be able to get it ANYWHERE ELSE…like, you know, a damn TV.

* I love whatever MS tells me to like.

* Kinect does not make you creative. >_>

* More sports assrape with Nike now. What’s the damn point of this?!

* “Can you imagine being without Xbox Live?” Yes, I can. I live it everyday. Better off, too.

* RT @usagi704: I think they forgot who they are talking to. HINT: It isn’t the most athletically minded people.

* Hey, @Microsoft (@Xbox)! I think you forgot about the games for your video game console.

* I’m not asking about the “web on Xbox.” Don’t need it. It’s on my PC!

* Internet Exploder for Xbox now. Are they trying to further red ring customer’s systems?

* RT @lightwarrior179: Internet Explorer. Also known as “I was raped by toolbars and popups so now I just hang myself for the world to see”

* Finally. Games! Again. Tomb Raider update.

* A quick look at Ascend: New Gods, LocoCycle, & Matter.

* RT @6h05tly: Resident Evil 6: I’m scared to even watch what the series has become.
Reply::A game about RE’s decent away from survivor horror is more horrifying than the series these days,

* Capcom of Japan is still trying to make a Western game.

* RT @alex_navarro: This girl looks just a little too pleased to be giving this Wreckateer demo.

* Usher and dancing. Not giving a single care.

* RT @lightwarrior179: Usher is here. Kindly USHER him out of here!
Reply::Why didn’t I think of that joke? XD

* It’s Call of Duty all year every year for most gamers. I’m still wondering when they will be tired of this. I am.

* And with an extended view of “Big, Bang, Boom” MS is done.

E3 2011: Microsoft Press Conference

PLEASE NOTE: This is my comments from Twitter that I made as the conference happened. If you can’t handle a difference of opinion from your own, then please DO NOT read this or comment.

* First up for the Microsoft press conf. is, you guessed it, a shooter. It’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Yawn!

* Honestly, why are they showing this game. Everybody knows what to expect and they buy it. I won’t, but this was already known too.

* Good thing a guy is shown playing. I always thought video games played themselves. Heck they kind of do nowadays.

* Tomb Raider reboot up now. This is one game that seems interesting to me.

* Peter Moore out for EA Sports imagining Kinect crap.

* I think I speak for all Mass Effect fans when I say Mass Effect 3 doesn’t need Kinect support.

* Ubisoft with Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. How may E3s has this been at now? At least 2.

* Can Kinect make taking a piss more “fun” too?

* TV doesn’t need to be “improved” with Kinect. A person’s voice isn’t standardized, but the remote is. I’ll take the “so horrible” remote.

* The INTERNET itself finds things better than Xbox Live.

* Entertainment with Xbox IS NOT the way I want it. It’s the way YOU want it Microsoft and that sucks!

* Dana White [UFC President]? He adds nothing being here expect for maybe getting an attitude with someone.

* Awww. It’s CliffyB & Ice-T for Gears of War 3. How cute.

* Crytek with Ryse trailer and now Halo history trailer for Halo 1 remake.

* Forza 4 trailer shown. Now Peter Molyneux on to over promise with the newest Fable game.

* Minecraft getting an Xbox release. I still don’t understand the appeal of it.

* Dinseyland Adventures for the Kinect looks like Home.

* [Kids on stage playing a demo.] “Oh no the Queen! Fistbump!” *rolls eyes*

* [Star Wars Kinect game pops on screen.] Clearly people are programmed to cheer anything Star Wars related. Stop it!

* Double Fine with their Sesame Street game.

* It’s Tim Schafer and, of course, we have to act like everything he does is so damn wonderful.

* It’s time for that wacky Kudo Tsunoda!

* That’s a lot of cheering for Avatar features.

* Kinect Sports 2 up now. AKA Wii Sports Resort.

* You can’t become #1 console in the world if the Japanese aren’t buying it.

* Halo 4 teaser for 2012 ends the show.

E3 2010 As I Saw It: The Microsoft Press Conference

I was on twitter during most of the conference throwing out my thoughts. I had missed Call of Duty: Black Ops and Metal Gear Solid: Rising otherwise I saw everything else. Here’s a straight copy and paste of what I had said. Mind the language if that’s not your thing.

* It’s Gears of War. I can’t expect much else. Looks as I’d expect. :D

* It’s the hype machine himself, Peter Molyneux.

* I expect to hear about stuff that never gets into the final version of the game.

* He means the crash power of the Xbox.

* Crytek showed a trailer for a new game. I’m pretty reaction free about it.

* Halo Reach is great and all, but it’s feeling like Zelda these days. It’s roughly the same thing every time.

* I gotta say that up to this point the music for Halo Reach has been pretty bland.

* When you combine all of those Xbox services with Kinect you just end up poor. (lol)

* Why do they feel that a controller is so bad and needs to be rid of. Gawd damn they are dumb!

* “It’s simple, natural, effortless.” Yeah and so was the damn controller.

* I love the the “Mom & Dad” videoKinect box. That’ll never be a reality.

* MS feels they need more bimbo. Finally they shut up with their meaningless bubblegum talk.

* ESPN is already available to everyone via that thing called cable TV!

* Yeah I wouldn’t want to use that pesky thing called a controller.

* Polls and shit like that are on a thing we call the Internet!

* Kudo is back to provide the Kinect crazy just like last year!

* I knew that MS would talk a lot about Kinect this year, but damn if it isn’t boring me to death.

* Kinectimals? Really? I hope that tiger mauls that girls face off. Anything else is boring.

* RT @Monodo: Now on Xbox. Tiny asian girl playing with her pussy

* RT @sterling_m: Kinectimals: All fun and games til M&M the Lion gets jealous and eats you.

* What is this guy doing? It looks like artificial crowd commanding.

* What can I expect in Kinect Sports? Umm the same shit that the Wii has already done and I didn’t care about it then.

* Kudo said that Joyride gives you what other kart racers can’t. How about you not lie outright.

* I just realized why Kudo is wearing sunglasses. If he didn’t his eyes would give away his disinterest in any of this Kinect shit.

* Look it’s Eyetoy Kinetic HD.

* I have Eyetoy Kinetic and it didn’t work well and I’m not talking about just the lighting problems.

* Fake swinging a lightsaber? I’m shocked. Oh wait no I’m not. Please stop with Star Wars games altogether!

How do you press the gas and brake to play a racing game on Kinect? I can guarantee that it won’t have the precision that’s needed.

The redesigned Xbox 360 is the same ugly thing that was leaked. Big question: Does it not fuck up?

This redesign is available at week’s end for $300. Reminds me of the Saturn announcement. I want a free one too!

Reliability was really the only factor that I cared about. My question was not answered.

New Releases 2009: Oct. 18-31

Another great set of weeks to be a gamer. Borderlands looks interesting as does the newest WWE game. IGN’s review made the latter game look good to me and I haven’t bought any of those games since Here Comes The Pain.

I hope that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is great on the PSP. I was going to buy the DS version, but this one looks to be slightly better. I’d also like to see the GTA Episodes make it to the PS3, but I wouldn’t be all that upset if they didn’t.

Out of all of these games my pick would have to be Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. I’ve enjoyed the series up until now and I don’t expect to be disappointed with this new installment.
