Favorite Game Music: Volume VI

Almost a year later and I’ve enough new game music to share for a sixth volume of some of my favorites.

I’ve always liked Simon’s theme from Super Castlevania IV and while I like it better, the version for Castlevania: Bloodlines is still good too.

A surprise track I found I liked from a little known Genesis game was the title track from Jewel Master. I didn’t like any others from it, but this one was enjoyable.

* Stage 1 from Sunsoft’s Batman (NES)
* Main theme from Sega’s Space Harrier (ARC)
* Jewel Master from Sega’s Jewel Master (GEN)
* Simon’s theme from Konami’s Castlevania: Bloodlines (GEN)

Favorite Game Music: Volume V

I’m back with the fifth volume of my favorite game music!

There’s a number of versions of Riddle over the years in the Castlevania series. Most of you have probably heard it from the third NES game, Dracula’s Curse. I like that one, but I found Order of Ecclesia to have the superior version.

I think the popular track from Street Fighter EX3 is Sakura’s theme, Precious Heart. However, I also think you’ll enjoy Skullomania’s theme, Amusementive Crime.

Lastly I’d like to point out, as I usually do, the more off-beat track. It’s Napolitan Blues from KOF ’94.

* Fight of Fate from Million’s Double Dragon Advance (GBA)
* Napolitan Blues from SNK’s The King of Fighters ’94 (Neo-Geo)
* Arashi no Saxophone from SNK Playmore’s The King of Fighters XI (Arcade/PS2)
* Riddle from Konami’s Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia/Akumajou Dracula: Ubawareta Kokuin (DS)
* Precious Heart from Arika’s Street Fighter EX3 (PS2)
* Amusementive Crime from Arika’s Street Fighter EX3 (PS2)
* Depot from Natsume’s Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers (SNES)
* Castle Corridor from Konami’s Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow/Castlevania: Akatsuki no Minuet (GBA)
* Ryu theme from Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds
* Hawkeye theme from Capcom’s Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Favorite Game Music: Volume IV

A fourth volume of some of my favorite video game music is here! Out of the ten choices below I like “War Like Requiem” and “Nova theme” the most with “Main menu theme” being a more off-beat choice.

* Storm Eagle theme from Capcom’s Mega Man X (SNES)
* Jungle from WayForward Technologies’ Contra 4 (DS)
* Stages 1 & 6 from Sunsoft’s Batman: Return of the Joker (NES)
